Job Purpose:

Our client is represented worldwide in the Logistics and Shipping verticals with strategic engagements at market leaders. Now the objective is to penetrate the German market with its strong players such as Hapag-Lloyd, DHL, Hermes or the other large companies in this market. As Segment Head, your challenge is to develop this market segment by defining the strategy and creating the necessary conditions. The reporting line is directly to the Global Head of these verticals.


  • Primary responsibility is to create business strategy and manage relationships to generate leads, build pipeline and execute sales cycle

  • To advise CxO level clients on strategic topics and help chart out their roadmap for business growth and transformation

  • Setting up a team and putting an organization in place to run the strategy office

  • Build holistic understanding of customer business and environment and contextualize our clients offerings and solution appropriately and position

  • Work with marketing team to ensure the right branding and positioning of our client in the industry ecosystem

  • Mentoring and grooming of the team aligned to organization goals

  • Strong links to industry sectors and very deep and meaningful international network, namely at business and institutional level

  • Liaise efficiently with the internal organization, synchronizing activities on a cross-functional basis to ensure that all opportunities are correctly identified, prioritized and aligned with internal workability and external expectations


Your Qualification:

  • Strong domain experience in Shipping & Logistics

  • Technology savvy to understand trends in technology and its impact on business models for Shipping & Logistics

  • Experience in business transformation and building new business models

  • Experience in new product introduction and driving the sales strategy for same

  • Strong ability in selling (as a hunter as well as a farmer) and building strong relationships

  • 10+ years of Strategy Execution experience with large consulting firms

  • Very good German and English language skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or relevant field

  • Master’s/ Management degree is an asset
